THE ENUGU STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL LEGISLATORS LED BY THE LEADER OF ALL COUNCIL LEADERS IN ENUGU STATE HON.NNAMDI ODO A.K.A NNIODO HAS EXPRESSED IT'S DISPLEASURE AND EXONERATED THE MEMBER LATE HON.NELSON WHO WAS MURDERED IN A COLD BLOOD FOUR DAYS AGO BY GUNMEN. IN A STATEMENT BY CHIJIOKE EDEOGA THE LABOUR PARTY GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE DURING HIS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY OF LATE HON. NELSON. . THIS IS THE LAWMAKERS RESOLUTIONS AND REJOINDER ON THE CLAIMS OF BARR. CHIJIOKE EDOGA ON THE DEATH OF OUR LATE MEMBER, HON. SYLVESTER OFUNWA DURING HIS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY. I bring you greetings in the name of the Lord. I am writing to inform the public and to set the record straight concerning the claim made by Barr. Chijioke Edoga during his condolence visit to the family of Late Hon. Ofunwa. In a video captured during the visit, the Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate claimed the late Hon. Sylvester promised him that his ward was solidly behind him. This statement has caused uproar within the ranks of Councillors and our party as it has portrayed the late Hon. as working for Edoga, which will be tantamount to anti-party. it is very unfortunate that Late Hon. Nelson Ofunwa cannot speak for himself at the moment. The entire 260 ward councillors of Enugu state have risen at this moment to put up this public statement and speak up for our late. Hon. 1. I want to state unequivocally that there has never been a time that our late brother who in his life has been a solid and verified member of PDP in anyway supported Labor Party for governorship. He has never engaged in any anti party activity before, during and after states and general election not to talk of being a front line supporter of LP governorship candidate as Edoga claimed. 2. Hon. Nelson was a dogged fighter and committed PDP member from day one. It is on record that with the efforts of Hon. Nelson, PDP won in Eha Ward against LP. 3. The said statement made by by Hon. Sylvester pledging support for Barr. Edoga was made on the 25th of May 2022 before the primaries. Edoga had gone to consult the Nsukka LGA stakeholders. Ofunwa familiarized with him as a brother from the same geographical enclave. 4. Hon. Sylvester only worked and canvassed for support for Pdp both during primaries and main elections. 5. The 20 ward councillors in Nsukka LGA will bear witness that Hon. Ofunwa worked hard to deliver his ward to PDP. He was amongst the first to throw his weight behind our present Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah. 6. We are displeased by Barr. Chijioke Edeogoa's statement during his condolence visit to the deceased family 7. We equally wish to remind Barr. Edoga that death is a solemn moment for deeper reflection and not a time to weep up sentiment. that elections are over and he should stop using the death of Hon.
